Dennis DiCarlo is the founder of Kronus Flooring Software and opened his first flooring store in 1994 that has since grown into five stores across North and South Carolina. After spending three decades running flooring stores on legacy software that was slow, unsupported, and built by people who'd never worked a showroom floor, Dennis set out to build software built by a flooring store owner, for flooring store owners. His goal with Kronus is simple: help retailers work smarter, not harder. Connect with Kronus on Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, X, TikTok, YouTube, or Pinterest.
Meet Dennis DiCarlo: The Flooring Store Owner Behind Kronus
Most flooring software is built by developers who have never sold a customer a floor, quoted a job, or managed a crew on installation day. Dennis DiCarlo built Kronus Flooring Software because he got tired of using software like that.
From a Warehouse and a Credit Card to Five Showrooms
Dennis started in the flooring industry in 1994 when he opened his first flooring store with a handful of carpet rolls, a warehouse, a credit card, and no forklift. Over the next three decades, he grew that single location into a five-store operation across the Carolinas, while staying committed to the same principles he started with: honesty, respect, and putting the customer's needs ahead of the sale.
Running a multi-location flooring business means Dennis has seen it all: lost paperwork, slow quoting, installer pay disputes, ordering mistakes, and software that made all of it worse instead of better. He tried the legacy programs, the ones built by outside tech companies with little flooring-specific knowledge and even less customer support. When those programs couldn't keep up with how flooring stores actually operate, Dennis decided to build something that could.
Expertise That Comes From Running the Business, Not Just Studying It
Retail Flooring Operations: From warehouse buying to showroom sales to installation crews, Dennis has worked in every part of the flooring industry
Software Built for Real Workflows: Kronus Flooring Software was designed around the actual lead-to-installation process, quote, sales order, purchase order, installation contract, final accounting. Everything is entered once and carried through each step.
Training and Onboarding: Having trained sales staff and installers across five locations, Dennis built Kronus Flooring Software to be intuitive enough that new employees can be productive within days, not weeks.
B2B Product Integration: Dennis's experience with vendor relationships and product catalogs shaped Kronus's automated product upload system, reducing quoting errors and saving time on every job.
The Kronus Flooring Software Philosophy
Dennis built Kronus Flooring Software around a simple belief: software should help flooring store owners make more money and give them less to worry about. That means no unnecessary complexity, no features added just because a developer thought they sounded good, and no waiting weeks for a support callback when something breaks.
Kronus Flooring Software exists to eliminate the two things Dennis dealt with for years running his flooring stores: wasted time and costly mistakes. Every feature is judged by one question: does this actually help a flooring store owner run their business better and make more money?
Serving Flooring Retailers Everywhere
Dennis and the Kronus Flooring Software team work with flooring retailers of all sizes across North America, with a particular focus on businesses underserved by expensive, clunky legacy software.
Ready to Work Smarter?
Dennis and the Kronus Flooring Software team built this software from the floor up, based on decades of actually running a flooring business. If your current system is costing you time, money, or peace of mind, it's worth a conversation.
